Roadside motels unsung heroes of road trips

The Tipi Motel, built in 1950 on historic Route 66 in Holbrook, Arizona, is a fine example of a quirky roadside motel. When prompted to tell us why they were wary of staying in a motel, they would say in unison: "Because of the truckers!" Apparently the girls thought all truckers were dangerous, not making the connection that they are just out there making a living like the rest of us.
