The center, located on Central just west of Carlisle in the Re-Max Select building, doesn't just let visitors know where the closest coffee shop is; it also allows them to explore the history of the area and its role in the heyday of Route 66 through photos and interactive maps. Mayor Tim Keller said he sees the center as a way to promote tourism in one of the city's busiest and most important corridors.
