In 1939, famed lithographer Adolf Dehn embarked on a 17,000-mile road trip to gather inspiration for a series of watercolors depicting the rural outskirts of a vast American landscape. At a certain point, a scene of endless Joshua trees brought Dehn's travels to a halt near Victorville.
