The Rainbow Bridge over Brush Creek near Baxter Springs, Kansas is the sole surviving bridge of its type along the old Route 66. James Marsh built many concrete arch bridges across the Mid-West, but this one, built in 1923, is the only one still standing. When a new and wider bridge was built next to this one, this was kept to allow drivers to take a short detour and drive over the old bridge.
